I have been using this ported template on my blog for a few months now and I finally created a distribution ready version of it. Beautiful Day is a simple two color pastel shaded theme by Viktor Persson. He makes clever use of simple vector shapes and soft colors to create a serene theme.
I have worked hard on the serendipity port to include a number of configurable options for this theme. You can access the following options in administration suite > manage styles:
In preparation for the next Google dance I have gone and ported Julien De Luca’s freshy wordpress theme to serendipity. Freshy is one of the most popular themes for wordpress and it includes a whole host of options for users wanting to customize it. I decided to port it after a user requested it on the s9y forums. But I later realised that it wasn’t as easy to port as I first thought. All those admin options make the theme really complicated and I haven’t included some options so it is really a partial port. The following options are available to users of s9y 1.1 who use the ported theme:
I omitted the option to customize the colours of text, links etc. and the option to choose between predefined styles that are included with the original theme. I did however compress the header images so they take less time to load. You can download freshy here.
Technical details and customization info for pre 1.1 s9y users follows.
Or more correctly the inclusion of a license. Until today I hadn’t included a license in my themes but I decided it was time to do so now. All my themes have a specific license. This license is not pure open source but it does allow free use and redistribution for most purposes. To read it just download a theme and see the license.txt file.
My third serendipity blog theme RoundedCorner is available for download. I have been tinkering with this theme for quite a while now and I finally decided that it was good enough for release. However, it might still have a few bugs in it so please tell me if you find any.
This theme isn’t particularly fancy looking but developing it
has taught me a lot. It is full of rounded rectangles created in photoshop and converted into code. It is also standards based with valid xhtml and css. At the time of writing this theme is in use on my site and you can try and validate it by clicking on the icons in the right sidebar. RoundedCorner is also a pure css theme except for the calendar plugin. You can download it here.
